Read elsewhere today

When I failed at work I learned to improve and grow better.

When I injured myself I learned patience and new ways to be healthy.

When my children throw tantrums they are teaching me more patience and the power of raw emotions and the wonder of childhood and what happens when you lose perspective.

When my wife and I had arguments it was an opportunity to learn more about each other and grow closer and become better at finding common ground.

When I moved and missed my family on Guam terribly it was an opportunity to learn introspection and self-sufficiency and grow closer to family here in the States.

When I daily face the terror of the void staring at me face to face it is my chance to push back and assert my will and imprint my soul upon this malleable world.

And that my friends is beauty. It is the finding of renewed hope and growth when all else seems bleak and lost.

In the struggle is the possible if we dare to look."

Bodyweight stuff today, no rhyme or reason just felt like it , that said no need to travel to gym either - IPromise it wasn't watching the cricket excuse!

Bodyweight circuits

Circuit #1 - Repeat 4 times
Prisoner squat - 20 reps
 pushup - 20 reps
Reverse lunge - 10 reps per side
Plank - 30 sec hold
Close-grip pushups - 20 reps 
Side plank - 20  sec hold  per side
X-Body mountain climber 10 reps per side

doesn't look much but enough for a normal off-day - starting tomorrow going to start an  daily am mobility circuit as well

Mobility circuit:
Overhead squat - 15 reps
sumo squat - 15 reps
Diagonal lunge - 12 reps per side 
Spiderman climb - 8 reps per side 
Prisoner forward lunge - 8 reps per side 
Spiderman pushup - 8 reps per side

Weather been a tad random today Gale winds & torrential rain - so naturally passed on the 2 buses to the gym .....

Is there such a thing as too many books - is it really possible to go in a bookstore & not buys books   ????? 

today am guilty of the cheapskate book buying  - drop in to  local store see 2 books I want both in the $34-40 range - I can't have both or can i?? go home  pop onto bookdepository.co.uk  & find out yes  can buy both & still get change  for NZ$40.00  ..... just have to wait for them to get here via snail mail - fair exchange 

fair game If I don't do it too often - have no guilt doing this in Borders who are at least 10-20% above any other physical bookstore

Man United have signed a new striker from Nigeria.

On his first day of training, Fergie picked up the ball and said 'BALL' then pointed at the goal and said 'Goal. Then he demonstrated a kicking motion and said 'Kick' understand, 'Kick ball, goal, GOOOOOAAAALLL!'

Eventually the young African plucks up courage to say "Excuse me Mr Ferguson but I speak very good English", to which Fergie replies ' Sit down son, I'm talking to Berbatov.

Okay, my legs were a bit heavy feeling after yesterday, ... but by this evening was good , went out today to find new trainers reckon rebel sport are in $$ trouble, stock hadn't changed since my visit a few weeks back, ie virtually no cross trainers unless you are size 13! will probably go to the Adidas shop next weekend or maybe bite the bullet & try the Nike Air things ?? mmm

got thru the intervals though so all good really ....

Sorry been quiet last few days, got that whole summer lack of sleep thing going on hitting the exhaustion wall ..... hopefully will get my self more sleep next week, if not will get better at dealing with it.

Been awhile since I said this, but work was great, got that sense of achievement & forward momentum on a couple of operational issues - cross your fingers for me, that no-one backtracks next week, only been trying to get this mess sorted since 2007-2008!!!

Kiwi oddism: aerobatic pilot praised as 'elite' hero doing something pointless but 'seashepherd' heroes protecting whales criticised by govt ... WTF???
